20

I missed 19 but it almost happened. Salt Lake/condo travel left my legs feeling like well my legs. Fat heavy and just not good. I have a problem with calves and sometimes it's not wise to push it. So last week was 17 miles/ This week was 20 but I had to walk the last 7 miles of the week. Thursday I just had low back joint pain. Not muscular but I could tell I needed a crack. Couldn't get one but a different bed and some cobra stretches did the trick. The old back is cracking like normal. Was actually able to run today and got a good start on this week.
On a side note I used a very supportive shoe to walk last night. My shins were killing me all morning. They still ache.

Cheater

Yes, I cheated today. I was running a bit tardy and ran some intervals on the treadmill.
10 x 2minutes @ 8.0mph. I was not suposed to run faster until March. It's like cheating.

18

Everyone gives me 'that' smile when I say I can't run more than X amount of miles for the day. Customers at Colorado Running Company give me that smile and a slight giggle. But it takes some planning and some caution to run just 18 miles a week. I could get all my miles for the week in 1 day. But I want to get in at least 5 days a week. So that means planning. This week was a bunch of 3-4 mile runs.
After a movie, first since Star Wars 2 in a theater, Cindy and I had a nice dinner. I think we planned our vacations for the year. The wine had much to do with the talk.
The finacial situations will dictate the real plans.
This week the plan is 19 miles. I should get a bunch in today, but not over an hour, with Cindy in Red Rocks. Wednesday-Friday I'll be in Salt Lake City for OR. I'll have to count on my running store freinds to help me get out.

and back to square 1

My week; 3.5 miles :(
What happened? Woke up Monday morning feeling good. Went to work and my back started to ache. No biggie, right? Well for someone who has sufferd thru a back surgery it is a big deal! I think I just did too much without paying attention to my core. And doing more core was a New Years resolution. Had to do when you are hurting. So I'm out the door today to walk/jog in the Garden and see what happens. Then down to the basement for core exercise.

Not a Happy New Year!

I waited until today, January 2, to write. This way I am not tempted to say Happy New Year like every other blogger in the world. We started off the day yesterday at Vail. THe internet told us that Blue Sky was to open. So got on an un-godly long catwalk early in the day just to be told
"oh, it will open at noon." DAMN. My quads were already under stress from the catwalk and then I went somewhere WAY beyond my level. Who says you get wiser as you get older. I should've known not to go down that slope looking at all the skiers falling. Oh well.
Back at the condo we napped then went for a short run to start the year off right. Heading out the parking lot we saw 3-4 moose standing in the road. They are bigger than me, not by much, so I decided we should just go another way around. As we made the loop back there was a Jeep in the road ~ where we saw the moose. Sure enough they were still in the road. I ran up to the passenger side of the Jeep and told the driver we were going to use him for cover. He replied that evrytime he moved forward the moose went back into the road. He was going to back up and go the way we just came. DAMN, that retracing of the run doubled the distance. But it was not too more effort. But I had to run up the hill I just came down and at 9800' uphill is really not my friend! So getting home Cindy immediately looked up Moose attacks. What she really needs to look up is husband attacks!
